Those lines at the bottom are for the transmission and engine oil cooler. If your vehicle is manual you have no need for the cooler lines. Answered by Donnie L. / Thu, Apr 08Question: I installed this on my 2010 Subaru Impreza outback sport automatic transmission with the 2.5 L 4 cylinder engine. It says on the information that it will fit automatic transmission without the need to plug the extra transmission line. I have success installed it and when I go to use a radiator pressure tester liquid squirts out the additional transmission line. Do I need to get a different radiator? Is this ok? Could I plug it with a vacuum plug and be ok?Samuel L. / Dec 02, 2020

Since water is coming out from the additional transmission line, we highly recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic to determine what part needs replacement.

Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Dec 03I plugged mine with vacuum plugs but I do not believe that is needed. Fluid should not be coming from the transmission fluid inlet/outlet. Those two are found on the bottom of the radiator. The top inlet needs to be plugged with the equipment provided as radiator fluid travels through that in the newer engines but not the older ones like you and I have. Sounds like you got a radiator that is way there already leaking or you forgot to plug the inlet up top.
