Answered by Aldrin P. / Mon, Aug 30I installed it in a 1995 SL500, I am not familiar with the 1997 but the setup should be the same, it fit perfectly. There was a small bracket holding the transmission cooling fluid line at the bottom of where the radiator slides in which had to be taken loose. There are 2 dimples in the top flange of the original radiator to secure the decorative cover that the new radiator does not have, so the cover does not fit back in. The radiator itself is better built than the original.

No it is a 1997 SL 500 Mercedes 2 door conversion not a hard top
