Hi Gavin, thank you for reaching out. You are not required to plug the transmission cooler lines since your vehicle will use it because you have an automatic transmission. Putting a plug to the transmission cooler lines isn't necessary if you have a manual transmission since nothing will go inside the transmission cooler, then nothing will come out from it.
