Question: Will this work for a 1998 Tacoma 4cylinder 2wd MANUAL transmission? Only says auto.Maria G. / May 24, 2021
Hi Maria, I'm glad to help you out. No, this part is only for automatic transmission. We have a radiator that will work for manual transmission compatible with the 1998 Toyota Tacoma Base 4 Cyl 2.4L and 2.7L. This radiator is made both for automatic and manual transmissions. Those line fitting at the bottom is for the transmission and engine oil cooler. If your vehicle is manual you have no need for the cooler lines. It is plugged shut and is only unplugged if the vehicle is automatic. I hope this helps. 1998 Toyota Tacoma Base, DLX, SR5 4 Cyl 2.7L and 4 Cyl 2.4L 2WD, Automatic Transmission (NOTE: This is NOT for Limited and Pre Runner submodels). If you could not determine the submodel of the vehicle, I suggest preparing the VIN number and calling the local dealership to determine what option the vehicle came with.
