The Haynes manual is an invaluable resource for DIY enthusiasts. For any vehicle, you will find comprehensive instructions with pictures and diagrams that show exactly what you'll see in front of you while performing any part of a stripdown or rebuild.
In combination with the installation instructions for the 2" lift kit we added to the front suspension of our 2018 Chevy Silverado, the Haynes manual gave us the information to feel comfortable in our ability to not only install the parts correctly, but also the confidence to put everything back together PROPERLY, as specified by the manufacturer. I like the feeling of knowing my vehicle is put together the way it was intended and therefore, safe.
The diagrams are labeled so well which eliminates confusion. The other day my grandpa noticed my right rear brake light was out. Wanting to show me how to replace the bulb, he unknowingly removed the turn signal light instead. The guy at the auto parts store was a little confused when he compared the bulb I gave him to the one which showed up in the database for my vehicle. Realizing what might've happened, I referenced my Haynes manual which clearly showed which bulb was which and confirmed that he had taken out the wrong bulb. With that bulb back in it's place, I purchased the bulb I actually needed and replaced it following the instructions in the manual. Even though changing a bulb is considered an extremely simple task compared to many vehicular tasks, it still gave me great satisfaction knowing I had successfully installed a part so that it was now in working order.
Forget searching through endless threads for info. from unreliable sources. This manual is your car's bible and everyone should possess a bible, it's just good form.
