Hello Leah, This strut assembly does not come with the coil spring. It only comes with the strut plate assembled into shock absorber. If you need a strut assembly with coil spring, you may look for the Loaded Strut. this is the type that comes with the coil spring and the strut mount. This particular item is the strut only,however it can probably be purchased as a whole unit, I suggest either way you go that you replace them in pairs, hope this helps.
