Answered by Aldrin P. / Sun, Nov 20Question: This loaded strut has an extra star type bolt/screw on top of the strut mount, in addition to the 3 mounting bolts. Looks like an adjustment mechanism. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid has a black reinforcing plate on top of the strut tower, with no hole in the plate to accommodate the star bolt. The frame underneath the plate does have a hole that lines up with the star bolt. Do I need an updated reinforcement plate, do I drill a hole in the existing plate, or is this not a compatible strut for my model of vehicle? Thanks!Ron L. / Jun 24, 2022
