From what I've read on the internet, there was a problem with the undercoating on these vehicles that caused an air bubble or gap to form. That's where it rusts out. Again, according to what I read, the driver's side did not have the air bubble problem under the undercoating, so that side doesn't rust out. I heard that if you should need a driver's side rear, it's a FORD part only--available only from Ford. Not sure about that.

Hello Jack,
This item is also called the "Shock Rust Repair Kit". It is for the rear passenger side and consists of 1 shock mount and 1 shock insulator kit. The patch panel welds into place, completely replacing the rusted original panel for a permanent fix. This shock tower patch panel exactly matches the fit and appearance of the original shock absorber mount.

Hello! I cannot recommend screwing this in, as it is a structural piece that your suspension bolts to.
