This is a direct-fit part and should match with the socket connector on your vehicle if your vehicle is built in Canada (with VIN number 2, as the 1st character of the VIN). If the VIN of your vehicle starts with a Letter "J" or number "1", this is not compatible. There is no need to alter or use an adapter for the wiring socket connector. Answered by Jeonino E. / Fri, Nov 19Hi- it's basically unplug the old one and plug in the new one - as stated above, if you have Canadian made - there's only one way to attach it and it's super easy. You do have to reach down in the side to unplug it but it's not difficult.
