Question: Is there a video that shows how to install these tail light covers? I'm trying to figure out if this is something I can install myself (just a few screws) or if it's a job for a pro (wiring).Anne W. / Jul 17, 2022
Hi Anne, I'm glad to assist you. Tail light installation should be moderately easy. Please refer to a vehicle-specific service repair manual to confirm install steps or much better refer to DIY online video-sharing websites for install tutorials (YouTube or Dailymotion). Installation is only slightly more difficult than changing a light bulb! Mounting the tail light assembly to the vehicle itself is with just a few screws. The wiring is equally easy - just unplug the car-side harness connector from the old tail light and plug it into the new one. Sometimes a screwdriver is needed to pry the connectors apart by disengaging an external plastic latch. Just look for that on the car side of the mated connectors before disconnecting the old light assembly. Usually you just bend that latch up slightly to allow the connectors to slide apart.

Hi, I bought one of these a few years ago. I think it depends on the level of damage to your existing light. For me, it was just a matter of unscrewing the old, broken cover and screwing on this one -- and I'm not particularly handy with cars. However if the light bulb sockets are damaged, it might be something for a mechanic. --Dave
