When I got the replacement the package said it fit a 98 ranger but the order online said it was to fit a 2001 ford ranger. It did fit into the holes though but it was much smaller than the other one so it did not cover where the old one used to. It’s not that big of a deal, it still fit but that is just what I gotta say.

I have a 1996 Ranger I bought this for. Your 1999 is in the same model years for this part. Definitely buy in this price range. I found the same parts elsewhere for multiple times the price. I replaced all my tailgate handle latch assembly mechanism parts. Ford Danger's are notorious for issues with the tailgate parts not functioning correctly over time.
