These a tailgate comes with a link, rod, hinge, pivot, and a handle. Yes, this item will lock the tailgate closed and the latch cannot be opened when the tailgate latch is locked.

Answered by Jay G. / Fri, Oct 30It does not lock, as in a keyed lock would. It only “latches” it closed. It won’t open until you pull the latch handle.

Hi Scott, I'm glad to assist you. No. It is the lock assembly only. It does not come with the tailgate lock cylinder. We do not carry the tailgate lock assembly with keys.
