The tailgate direct fit replacement latches cables and lock kit for my 1989 F150 fit perfect requiring 35 minutes to R&R the old to new parts. I sprayed a lil WD40 on the old bolts and screws to help with the process.

Parts dropped in with a near perfect fit, got here fast, and seems as good quality as the originals.
This doesn't come with instructions, but dont be deterred, they really arent needed - this isn't complicated.
The "near perfect fit" part was that the connectors for the braided cable ran into each other a little when closing the tailgate. 2 minutes with a file fixed that, not a big deal, and totally possible this is just specific to my truck ('97 f250 HD, 7.3L, california version).

This kit too some work to get it to work right. Most notably the level arm of the handle is about a quarter inch too long. I had to use an angle grinder to remove some metal from my tailgate to get it to work without getting hung up on the edge of the hole.
