Question: whats the difference between inner & outer tie rod ends?medz M. / Sep 06, 2020
Hi Medz,
The inner tie rod(longer) is the part that is connected to the steering rack left and right and the outer tie rod(shorter) is connected to each end of the inner tie rod for left and right and comes with a balljoint and installed with a locking castle nut. It is connected to the steering knuckle bracket/bar.
A vehicle specific repair manual is also best to check for more details about it. You can find more information here: https://www.carparts.com/blog/why-you-should-always-consult-a-repair-manual/
