Hi Arthur, I'm glad to assist you. A P0449 DTC means that the evaporative emission control system vent valve or solenoid has a malfunction. It is possible that it could be the solenoid, but we suggest having a professional mechanic check the truck to pinpoint exactly the part that is needed to be replaced so we can help you get the correct one. Answered by Arnel E. / Tue, Jul 06P0449 DTC means that the evaporative emission control system vent valve or solenoid has a malfunction. The ECU detects this fault and causes the Check Engine Light to be illuminated on the dashboard.
