Question: Is this also called or known as the camshaft position AccuWeather ?Spanky / Apr 22, 2021
Hi Shannon, I'm glad to help you out. Unfortunately, they are not the same. The camshaft sensor is the device that monitors the camshaft position and speed, while the variable timing solenoid manages the oil flow depending on the engine speed and load. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

Question: This is for the intake right not exhaust?Brendan K. / Mar 07, 2021
Hi Brendan, The variable valve timing solenoid is a component of the variable valve timing system that manages the oil flow depending on the engine speed and load. A VVT solenoid in good working condition improves performance and fuel efficiency. The purpose of variable valve timing is to ensure that the valves open and close at the right time to maximize engine performance and reduce fuel consumption. When the VVT solenoid is malfunctioning, the entire system can be compromised, which may result in intake and exhaust valves opening and closing at the wrong time. This typically causes the fuel economy to drastically reduce. The variable valve timing solenoid is located at the front of the engine, typically near the front of the valve cover. Try looking at the new solenoid to match the shape and help you find it. The connector is the exposed end of the variable valve timing solenoid. The part is inside the engine. Since you were mentioning intake or exhaust, you might be looking for a different part other than this one? It might be an intake or exhaust valve?
