Hi John, I'm pleased to assist you. It is not necessary to remove the black ring on the CV side. The black ring is a press-fit-bearing race that is already installed on the hub. Removing it would likely damage the bearing and could also be dangerous if not done properly. Use the link below to directly place your order while the part is in stock.
