Hi Jerry,
As per checking, this is a guaranteed fit for your 1984 Ford Mustang, most submodels except the SVO 4/6 or 8 cylinder engine fitment. The part you will be receiving is the motor and and gear assembly as one whole unit with plug.

look at the picture. What you see is what you get. My suggestion is to keep the little plastic spacers that are in the gear box thise go bad while the motor is still functioning.
