Fit perfect in the door. Made a little mod when screwing the old motor onto new parts. Not a big deal. Worked very well when installed.

Hi,
Unfortunately, as per checking, the part is not compatible. The part number for the 1997 VW jetta is V462906, but without the motor. We do not carry the window motor for the front driver side however. This one you are referring to now fits the 2002 VW cabrio front driver side, window regulator with motor.

Answered by Jeonino E. / Sat, Feb 27If the door part numbers are the same, it might work. Compared to your 97, the 2002 Cabrio is just an MK3 with an extended nose, MK4 headlights and dash. This part fit my 2002 Cabrio perfectly. So check door part numbers from a VW dealer site.

Still, you might need other parts such as a brake disc and pad kit (front and rear) or upgraded ceramic brake pads.
