Question: My washer fluid is not coming out when I try to use it. Will this part fix the problem on my 2009 Honda Pilot EXL?Carol N. / Sep 03, 2022
Hi Carol, There can be several reasons why the windshield washer is not working properly on your Honda Pilot. When checking, you should always start with the most obvious cause, clogged washer spray nozzles.
Before you decide on replacing the nozzles though, you must rule out any problem with the washer pump. First thing you want to do is define whether your windshield washer pump comes on when you turn on the switch. Try to push the washer switch and listen for a buzzing sound. The reason you want to listen for this sound is because the whole washer system consists of two parts: electrical and fluid delivery. If we can hear the buzzing sound, the electrical part of the system is working properly, the problem must be on the fluid delivery side. If the pump doesn't come on and there is no buzzing sound, we have a problem with the electrical part of the system. Now, if the problem is on this side of the system, there are a few things that we need to inspect. Electrical part of the system usually consists of a battery, a switch (to turn it on), a fuse and sometimes a relay. If the pump doesn't come on, most of the time it is a bad pump.
In any case, it is advisable for laypersons to visit a workshop. In the event of a defect, the mechanic can directly initiate the repair.

Question: Is this the reason my wipers come on when I start my car?? Changed arm & motor!!Adrienne S. / Mar 01, 2021
Hi Adrienne,
Yes, this could possible the main cause of your problem. But still, it is also best to refer to your trusted local auto repair shop so a certified mechanic can do an extensive and careful troubleshooting if there are other causes besides the wiper relay. A vehicle specific repair manual would equally help as well.
