I'm no mechanic. However, in studying up on the lock design, it appears that this module affects a number of different issues. In the Suburban, for example, there is *also* a module in the right rear quarter panel that has a similar multi-function role. Where would that be, if there is one, in the Silverado?

My truck never did it driving, just when I closed the door. It might do it because I think the electric parts, in the part sometimes are worn out. It fixed my problem.

Hi John, Yes, this is accurate and good to order since if the original actuator is defective already it cannot unlock or lock the door automatically.

If your key fob is working properly, this latch should work when you push the lock/unlock button on the fob. Mine works just fine. Note: I thought it’s didn’t work when i tested it with the door open, but finally found it works well when door is shut. There is apparently a fail-safe mechanism to keep you from accidentally locking yourself out.

So Iam just going off of your information. If the fob operates the locks then it is a keyless entry. The keyed locks were stock. Used for backup in case the fob doesn't work.
