Not same quality as original, but bargain price if it holds upFront Engine Splash Shield
4.0/5
It's hard to give a rating. I paid $40 for this which probably would have cost $500 for the dealership to replace it. So already, it doesn't have to be great to satisfy. It was easy to replace. You must use the screws from the original. The plastic is about 50% to 75% the thickness of the original splash shield. So it is thinner and more floppy. This makes me wonder how durable it will be, and how well it will stand up to prolonged heat from the engine. Could it melt? 4 of the 5 holes matched up with the original. One hole was off by a little, enough that I had to drill a new hole to get the screw in. But it is fine. There was a clip/screw missing on the oil filter removable panel. 3 of 4 were there, but the 4th had no screw nor a clip. It was a $1.50 part from the local hardware store. For the price, it's hard to complain about much. We'll see how durable it is going forward.

Didn't even last a yearFront Engine Splash Shield
1.0/5
Ordered this part for my dad's Fusion, received it in September of 2024 and got it put on a few days later, it was tight, it is now June and driving it has ripped the plastic around one of the screw/bolts or whatever and it has been scraping the ground at times just like the old one when we bought the car in August. It's probably the parts fault and the way the damn car is designed as well.

This was pretty close to a perfect fit and installation was easy. One of the predrilled holes didn’t line up exactly but I was able to work around it. The price was terrific and delivery was swift.

Question: Is the splash shield nessary?None / Sep 20, 2024
Hi Milton, thanks for initiating contact. Yes, the splash shield (also known as the under-engine cover) is a necessary component for most vehicles. It helps shield the engine, transmission, and other vital parts from dirt, water, road debris, and other contaminants that could cause damage or corrosion. The splash shield helps reduce air drag under the car, which can improve fuel efficiency and overall vehicle performance. By controlling airflow around the engine, the splash shield can aid in proper cooling. While your car will function without it, removing or not replacing a damaged splash shield can expose your engine and other components to unnecessary risks, leading to costly repairs in the long term. If your vehicle information matches this shield, click the link below to order directly and take advantage of our current discounts and limited supply.
