If it’s not pumping gas to carb , then it’s possible you have wire reversed . Since it is a dc motor it could be running backwards .

It’s a pulsating-type low flow pump. That’s normal operation for this design. Sort of sounds like a loud clicking sound.

The side of the wire goes out, fuel goes out towards the wire side

Question: I have a stock in tank electric pump fuel tank from a truck of the same year make model and displacement . It has no return. The tank I’m replacing it with is a mechanical fuel pump with return. Do I need to modify the system to add a return or do can I swap and forget about return?Mike L. / Mar 11, 2024
