Hi Ervin, I'm glad to assist you. This fuel-sending unit consists of a float, usually made of foam, connected to a thin metal rod. The end of the rod is mounted to a variable resistor. Either the fuel tank needs to be grounded or as with yours, the sending unit needs to be grounded.
