The part selected above is part of the EVAP system and has nothing to do with the fuel system. It’s a purge valve and vents the fumes from the tank. It attaches right next to the Intake Manifold very close to the Oil Dipstick on the 2000 BMW 328i. What you are looking for is called a 3/2 Way Valve (Fuel Control Valve) part number 13311740281, and it actually comes together with the Fuel Regulator. It is located under driver’s side door under the car, and it attaches to the fuel filter. I do have photos, but can’t seem to attach them here. Hope that helps!

No it does not. This part is usually located under the exhaust manifold. One end is connected to the intake manifold and the other goes to charcoal vapor canister near the fuel tank.
