Hi Francis, There is no legal requirement to paint the grille. Small scratches and dents will stand out more than when painted.

It can be used unpainted, the finish is matte black so small scrathes will show. You will also need to heat the tabs in the back of the grill to keep the printable ring on or use a very steong 2 sided tape, just an fyi

Yes. In fact, I use mine unpainted. I'm worried the plastic will scratch and show eventually but it looks pretty good for my blackout project.

We suggest getting those locally through a local auto supply store or the dealership. Inner trim piece was very loose( inner clip pins have no lock in feature and can work out from outer grill piece) and we had to glue it in with a plastic epoxy ....then all fine. On hardware clips.. the grill only came with the 2 lowers push in clips(that mount to bumper top). They are preinstalled into the outer grill and appear to be removable as originals were. No additional clips or mounting hardware comes with it. Quality grill after you glue in the inner piece. Would buy it again if ever needed!

Yeah, mine didn’t “clip in” and ended up on the turnpike somewhere. I would use 4200 or 5200 fast cure to secure it. They are a marine grade sealant that will do the job.

Hi Andy, This is with paintable shell. You can have it painted to the color or finish of your choice. But, we don't do painting on our body parts and only ship them primed. We suggest having it painted locally so they can correctly match the shade of your paint.
