Direct Fit Ignition Failure Sensor, Sold Individually
4.0/5
Good guys, obviously, try hard, I give them four stars, only so that they have something to strive for and so that they don't get cocky. But otherwise, in principle, everything is good. Everything suits me.

This part text my vehicle…and cleared a bunch of codes: P0301, and other 400 series codes, which made it appear as if we needed to replace plugs and spark plug packs. Didn’t have to, thanks to this part!

Question: What does this part do?Rooooo / Nov 17, 2020
Hi Randall, The IFS (Ignition Failure Sensor) is responsible for keeping tabs on the voltage drop on the coils' positive side so that your Engine Control Unit (ECU) can better monitor coil operation. Click on the link to know more about this part: https://www.carparts.com/ignition-failure-sensor#:~:text=A%20code%20that%20you%20might,Ignition%2FDistributor%20Speed%20Circuit%20Fault.&text=By%20replacing%20this%20sensor%20with,re%20traveling%20at%20highway%20speeds.

Basically continues to let the ecm know the voltage going to the positive side of the coil packs. If the voltage is to drop drastically at any point, the chip will notify the computer and send a CEL to the driver. If they go bad, and a coil pack starts losing power, this can create misfires and damage the engine internally

Question: What is location for 1998 acura rl 3.5 ignition failure sensor?Kevin / Mar 21, 2024
Hi Kevin, I'm glad to assist you. The ignition failure sensor on a 1998 Acura RL 3.5 is typically located near the ignition switch. It is a crucial component that monitors the ignition system for any issues. However, another resource says that your car doesn't have a single sensor specifically called an "ignition failure sensor." The two sensors that do the same function are the knock sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. You can also call your local dealer to confirm it. Upon checking, we do not carry one for your car.

Question: What’s the little cellophane packet of white stuff (grease?) for?TheBeast / Jan 17, 2024
Hi Racquel, I'm pleased to assist you. The little cellophane packet of the white stuff is for sealing the ignition failure sensor. It's a thread sealant, and it's used to prevent leaks and ensure a tight connection when the sensor is installed. You can use this link to continue ordering today while the part is in stock. Question: Is this part the same as a crank case sensor for 04 Kia Optima V6?Corey S. / Oct 21, 2023
Hi Corey, I'm glad to assist you. No, it is not. You might be referring to a crankshaft position sensor. We have that part. Still, we need to confirm if you have any trouble codes from your mechanic or the repair shop that did the diagnostic testing.
