The part I ordered fit my 1992 Toyota Pickup 4x2 as advertised and as usual when ordered from Car Parts.There is something to learn here, however. There are 3 key positions on the cylinder, the far left one is the position to remove the key.
The cylinder received did not work in that third position, but by inserting a small piece of wire with some grease to hold, the third position would work because it now would push the little button far enough down to release the key.

No, this cylinder and key set are for the models without the programmable transponder.

- If the key head is large and made of plastic, it likely contains a transponder chip.
- Try a non-programmable key. If you use a regular metal key without a chip, the truck will crank
but will not start.
- Check for a theft light: If the theft light on the dashboard blinks rapidly when you try to start
the truck, it means the system isn’t detecting a programmed transponder key.
- Search for a PATS transceiver: The transceiver ring is usually located around the ignition
cylinder and communicates with the key’s chip.
- Check the owner's manual of your truck if there is a passive anti-theft system (PATS) noted.
