Standard Oe Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder
5.0/5
This was a great replacement for a worn out 16 year old key cylinder. The price was 600.00 less than the part my mechanic could find and he was happy to put it in. This works great in my 2003 Honda Element.

Question: My key suddenly wouldn’t turn to start and was stuck difficult to remove.
Investigation reveals the lock cylinder will not turn for unknown reasons.
Behind it is the switch with the usual slotted switch that can be turned with a slot screwdriver but when turned will turn the motor over but it will not start.
Is this an anti theft design and if so can I buy a new lock cylinder only.
This is ab2003 element a work truck if you will.
Thanks in advance. ?David H. / Nov 03, 2021

Question: Will I have to program the keys to my vehicle?A Shopper / Nov 22, 2020
Hi,
This is just for the standard ignition lock cylinder with key without the remote anti theft auto start fitment type. But if you have the anti theft remote start. This is not compatible.

I had my mechanic install this cylinder so I am not positive but I’m pretty sure he said that having the keys come with the cylinder saved him having to reprogram the old keys to the new cylinder. Most importantly this replacement cylinder and keys were about 600.00 cheaper than the ones my mechanic could get from his usual supplier. The new cylinder works great.
