Will need shorter boltsLocking Hub, 6-Stud, Includes Gaskets And Bolts, 28 Splines
3.0/5
At least state on the site that shorter hub bolts may be needed. Bought these hubs for replacing the auto-locking hubs on a 2004 Xterra. The original hub assembly is one piece with appropriate length bolts. This hub is a two piece that requires shorter bolts. Nothing more aggravating than starting a job and needing to stop after OEM parts are off to discover this. Now I'll need to see if the local very small town auto parts has what I need, otherwise it's a 30 mile drive to the next largest city.

Need shorter boltsLocking Hub, 6-Stud, Includes Gaskets And Bolts, 28 Splines

Excellent replacement part, but they do not send replacement bolts with it. The original hub is a 1 piece hub, the replacement is 2 piece, so it requires shorter bolts. Thankfully, the hardware store was close with adequate bolts.

Quick fixLocking Hub, 6-Stud, Includes Gaskets And Bolts, 28 Splines
4.0/5
Great quick fix for my failing automatic locking hubs. Easy install with the exception of needing to get smaller bolts to mount to hub, since the originals were too long (40 mm length was the size of bolt needed)

It does not come with Allen head bolts the ones with the factory auto hub are to long for these you have to get shorter bolts to bolt to hub rotor which ever you want call it

Question: My 2002 Frontier came with the Auto lock hubs. Will these manual lock hubs replace them?  ThanksRick P. / Mar 13, 2021
Hi Rick, Yes, you can. I recommend for you to consult a professional mechanic at your trusted automotive shop or dealership since you are going to do a conversion.

Yes you can, they work fine. The only problem you'll have is finding new different size bolrs. The OEM ones won't work.

Question: Does this include wheel bearings?Addison C. / Sep 14, 2021
Hi Mike, I'm glad to assist you. No. These are locking hubs. These are not the wheel hubs assemblies that include bearings. I hope this helps and happy shopping.

Question: I have a 2003 Nissan Xterra four-wheel-drive with a V6 auto locking hubs. The white plastic ring with a spring is broken inside the hub. And it apparently locks in one put into four-wheel-drive and then out in 2 Wheel Dr. Will these locking hubs illuminate the need for that plastic ring? Thanks, EdEdward H. / Dec 19, 2020
Hi Ed, This is a mechanically activated(manual) locking hubs are activated by hand by turning a switch on the end of the axle. The advantage to mechanical hubs is that they are often considered more robust, and less prone to issues due to maintenance negligence. The disadvantage of this is that the driver needs to get out of the vehicle to activate the hubs. This is a direct fit plug and play install. The problem you encountered would likey be far remote to happen on this manual locking hubs.

100% and I have been on these manuals for a year. No problems whatsoever. They ride nice. Engage nice. And can take a beating. I prefer manual lockers vs auto. You get to control that aspect.

No, it doesn’t come with the plastic ring/spring the put the vehicle 2-4 and 4-2 wheels. It’s not the auto locking system. Sorry, it’s just the hun, the exterior hun.
