Hi Jose, I'm glad to assist you. No. The ambient air temperature sensor and mass air flow sensor are not the same parts. The MAF sensor measures air intake into the engine so it can adjust the fuel trim to be mixed at the right ratio. The air temperature sensor is for the cooling and heating system. Yeah and so far I have just had to return one that was defective.it actually made the car run really bad when originally was running just fine only thing was that the check engine light was on.now I'm waiting for the new one to arrive..... more will be revealed..

Answered by Henry G. / Sun, Sep 11Yes, that is the mass air flow sensor that works in conjunction with the fuel system to insure a proper air / fuel mixture. They both should be cleaned at the same time and a spray cleaner is available for both.
