Hi Alan, I'm glad to help you out. This mirror does not have an auto-dimming function. In as much as I would want to help you, I do not have the complete vehicle information to work on. Hi Roy,
A puddle light is the light underneath the side mirror. These lights usually light up when the doors of a vehicle are unlocked, illuminating the ground directly below. There is also a function that enables the driver to switch off the status light in favor of a pure light function.

Answered by Arnel E. / Wed, Aug 26If I remember correctly, the new mirror had the same wiring color code as my 2012 Dodge Ram. The existing broken mirror did not have the light so there was no existing wiring for the light. The new one had a wire for the light. After I matched all the existing wiring to the new mirror wiring, the only wire left was for the light. I taped the end of the wire in the mirror. No big deal.

Answered by Clarence / Thu, Aug 27You can use them just the lights wont work until you have your CANBUS system programed for them. The dealership can do that for you or anyone who has the $50 app (AlfaOBD) and a bluetooth OBD2 reader
