The gears that break are not available separately from the manufacturer. I'm not sure if there is an option for aftermarket gears, but I think it would be easier to replace the whole assembly.

I’ve been told it can be, supposedly it’s a plastic gear wheel that breaks. I talked to a few people and was told it’s easier to replace the whole mirror.

Yes this one from carparts.com fits perfect and has all the factory items on it.

Do not beleive so, easiest fix is replace
