I was able to replace the damaged mirror. Good fit appearance and functionality. Painted with rust-oleum metallic silver. Close enough match its not noticed unless you are in inspection mode. Way to go for older cars.

The price was great, at about 1/3 of the cost from the parts store down the road. The fit was perfect, and installed easily. However, the mirror vibrates terribly when the car is running, making it distracting. It seems that the mechanism to adjust and hold the mirror is not very robust. It was a quick, short term fix that makes the car legal to drive. I was just hoping that the part would be a good deal that was of equal value to the OEM part. "You get what you pay for..."
