Big ride improvementFront, Driver Or Passenger Side Bare Strut, Reflex Series
5.0/5
I had 145k on the original shocks so they were long overdue to be changed. The Monroes made a substantial improvement in ride quality and practically eliminated the vibration I have been getting through the steering wheel. I still get some vibration, but I suspect it will go away when I get new tires, (my current Rugged Trails have over 70k on them). The front shocks have what looks like a shield covering the area where the rod exits the shock body. One of the shields was bent up but the damage appeared to be cosmetic. The packaging was undamaged so it looks like it may have been damaged at the factory. The instructions were a little sketchy and I did not initially tighten the front rod bolts as tightly as they needed to be. I noticed some noise when I first drove the truck. Upon closer examination, the rod nuts were not touching the shock brackets because of the spring compression under load. I tightened the rod nuts until they bottomed out on the brackets and the noise went away.
