Chevy steering column cover replacementStandard Oe Replacement Steering Column Housing Repair Kit
It is a decent product, but the installation instructions are non existent. I did look on the internet and couldn’t find any installation instructions. I have been working on machinery and equipment for 54 years in the farming business so I feel like I’m not a novice at figuring out how mechanisms work. Being without at least basic parts list or instructions it doesn’t tell you that some of the parts are not needed or what I found out was some of the factory parts need to be deleted for the cover to be applied. In this particular instance the dimmer switch rod holder and plastic clip would not stay in place for assembly, the original has a hole at the top of the piece to hold it in place, this one did not. The only other issue in my case applying it to a 1994 Chevy 1500 has a metal ring at the base of the turn signal assembly that has to be removed for this cover to fit which in turn doesn’t have the mounting holes for the cover over the steering wheel lock to be mounted. It all works but this would have been good information for a smoother replacement. Over all this cover is decent and looks really nice. I would buy it again knowing what has to be done to make it and easier application.
