Cheap material. Put all together and noticed plastic pieces were backwards for the latch part. Put together again last dew days. Little plastic piece broke. Crappy product

I purchased this kit to replace the tailgate latch on a 1998 Chevy Silverado. The replacement fits like a glove and was a fairly simple install. One thing to note is that the plastic rod clips are installed backwards from the factory, as are the tailgate hinge straps. This was a simple fix. Overall a good and cost effective replacement to a 26 year old tailgate.

Hi Jason,
As per checking, this kit does not come with installation hardware. You can reuse the old ones, or we suggest getting those locally through a local auto supply store or the dealership.

Hi Ricky, I'm glad to assist you. Yes, this comes complete, but this is not compatible with a stepside model. We don't have a tailgate latch kit for the stepside GMC trucks.
