Tailgate door for my arrived quickly and fits my car nicely. Although the shipping carton was in good shape there was some minor damage in the corner edge of the door. I will have to putty that up before painting it. Otherwise a good purchase.

I ordered this tailgate for a 2008 Ford F 150. I was replacing a tailgate that was damaged along the top edge and would not be able to seal up.
The tailgate came complete with the latch and securing mechanism. It was done up in black primer. When I received the gate the box showed no signs of damage. But there was damage to the drivers side edge and also to the bottom. Nothing real drastic but if this was going on a newer vehicle I would have asked for a replacement. In speaking with customer service I opted for a partial refund and kept the gate. After all there are enough dents and dings in my truck this wasn’t so bad. Really happy with the gate and the resulting customer service interaction. Will be happy to do business with CarParts in the future.

Excellent price for this part, body shop wanted $500+ for used part. Then paint put it at $1000. ordered a wrap to cover outside and bed liner paint on the inside, DONE!

There was a dent on the right side of the tailgate when we got it out of the box, but my paint guy did a great job and was able to fix it like it should have been in the first place.

We don't do painting on our body parts and only ship them primed. We suggest having it painted locally so they can correctly match the shade of your paint.

Answered by Arnel E. / Tue, Feb 21I believe’04-‘08 had the same tailgate. Mine is an 07 and it fit nicely. I had to adjust the the tailgate lever a little bit to make it easier to open. Other than that everything works as advertised.
