Question: Are these already programmed so all I would have to do is install and then relearn?James C. / Jul 28, 2020
Hi James, These Dorman sensors work with all existing Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) tools. This uses 315MHZ frequency.

You have to relearn the tire location which is an easy process.

Question: If I install these will they have to be programmed by the dealer?Tires / Aug 03, 2021
Hi Jim, I'm glad to help you out. Most TPMS systems do not require a re-learn procedure and instead automatically monitor signals from any TPMS sensor that match the correct protocol. You may also consult with your dealership for more information. Take advantage of our 30-day price match guarantee. Hello, I purchased these exact same set for my 2010 Chevy Malibu and they MUST be programmed. The tire shop (Pep Boys) programmed them and the light turned off! To be detailed, call the tire shop prior and ensure they have the adequate TPMS tool to program them. These are are the kind of answers I wish I knew before driving around town to find the right shop with the tool to re-program mine.

Not sure what you mean by "already preprogrammed" but I installed them on my Chevy Silverado 2500 LTZ truck, no issues. I then had to program the air sensor system on my truck to recognize which sensor is in which wheel (procedure in the manual).

When I bought my set of sensors, I took it to my local co-op center where they had the right equipment to program it fairly easily. It wasn’t as expensive as going to an OEM dealer who wouldn’t even do the work, unless I bought the sensors from them. Hope this helps!
