Yes, they are different and can not be interchanged cause the wirings and mountings are different.

Answered by Grace G. / Fri, Jan 15Its the mounting direction/angle that is different between driver's side and passenger side. Otherwise for the motor itself there is no difference. One trick that I use is to just replace the motor.
The motors can be separated from the gear box allowing you to leave the gear box bolted up. Thus, you can unscrew the failed motor from the gear box, unscrew the new motor from the new gear box and install the the new motor on the old gear box.
