Put this on a 95' GMC Yukon. It looks good, fits great, seems very strong and dependable. Husband installed in under one hour - said everything went on without a problem.

Question: I have a 2023 F150 XLT with the V6 motor. What is the difference in Hitch model 14017 and hitch model 14021 that makes such a price difference? Both hitch models seem to have the same specs and the only difference I see is that one model is curved on each side of the 2 inch reciever.?Wayne H. / Apr 16, 2025
Hi Wayne, I am pleased to assist you. The primary difference between the Curt Class IV hitches #14017 and #14021 lies in their cross tube design, which affects both aesthetics and price.
* 14017: has a straight cross tube design that's fully visible under the rear bumper. It’s more traditional and is often marketed as a rugged, heavy-duty option.
* 14021: has a curved cross tube that offers a cleaner look with less of the hitch showing beneath the bumper—usually seen as the more “refined” style.
So why the price flip? It often comes down to inventory levels, or discounts on one model over the other. 14017 is discounted at 38%, while 14021 is discounted at 81%. Sometimes, a part with better aesthetics ends up being priced lower simply because it's overstocked or on clearance.
For your 2023 Ford F-150 XLT V6, both hitches are compatible. If you prioritize a more discreet appearance, the #14021, with its concealed design, would be suitable. Conversely, if you want something straightforward and functional, and visibility isn't an issue, the #14017 would serve you well.
Let me provide you with both links below so you can choose which one you'd prefer to order while parts are in stock. I hope this helps. Enjoy shopping!
