Coolant capGm Original Equipment Series Radiator Cap - Round, 15 Lbs., Black, Plastic, Sold Individually
5.0/5
My old cap was getting harder to open up whybi decided to buy a new one. The new one made it easier to open the cap to refill the reservoir for the coolant. When thevxap becomes harder to open the cap need to buy a new one. 15 psi all it takes should easily be able to open with a new one. If harder then the cap is bad.

Hello! You may have to press down and rotate to remove it. You can also try some penetrating lubricant to help free up the cap.

Mine was kind of stuck and when it was forced, it broke, but was able to get the pieces out after that. I wasn't losing any fluid though.

Question: What can I spray on my radiator cap to loosen it.i can't get it off and I don't want to break the hard plastic it screws on to.i have a 2008 HHR.thsnk you What is the name of the lubricant I can use?Donna E. / Apr 12, 2024
Hi Donna, I appreciate you getting in touch. Based on the search results, you can use silicone paste or grease to lubricate the radiator cap and make it easier to remove. Silicone paste is safe to use on rubber and plastics, and it is often used on o-rings and rubber washers. It can also help prevent corrosion and seizing. Silicone grease is also safe to use on rubber and plastics, and it can withstand high temperatures. Don't miss out on our best offer!
