I like the alternator was plug and play and allowed me to add a tad bit more amps then the original alternator.

Works perfect, but the back half of the alternator that has the wire connections, was put together 1/4 turn to the right from the adjusting mount & fan side from where it should have been.

Hi Thomas, I'm glad to assist you. No, it is incompatible. The 1982 Buick Riviera has three kinds of engine sizes/displacement. Please tell us the engine size since the alternator might be different for 6 and 8-cylinder engines.
