Question: my 1985 chevy astro only has one red wire coming from solenoid. where would the black wire go?19187241723 / May 30, 2025
Hi Sam, thank you for reaching out. Your 1985 Chevy Astro likely uses a single-wire TCC solenoid with a red power wire and internal grounding. The AC Delco 214-1892 solenoid has two wires (red and black). You should connect the red wire from the van to the red wire on the solenoid (12V ignition power). Connect the black wire on the solenoid to a clean ground (transmission case or chassis). This completes the circuit. Question: Mine will not go over 35 miles a hour?Cotton / Sep 12, 2020
Hello! Automatic transmissions are notoriously difficult to diagnose, so I would recommend taking it to a specialist that can provide you with a list of parts needed, so you don't end up buying the wrong parts.
