Following the release of the redesigned Santa Fe in 2018, Hyundai is giving the model another update for the 2020 model year. The update, however, won’t be anything major considering the current generation of the Santa Fe has only been in the market for a couple of years.

What’s most notable, though, is that the 2020 Santa Fe Limited trim will be equipped with Hyundai’s flagship Palisade SUV’s Blind-View Monitor safety feature. The Blind-View Monitor will be complementing the Santa Fe’s Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, which displays a camera view of the blind spot each time the driver activates the turn signal.

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe will feature added safety features and repackaged equipment for better customer value.

Aside from the Blind-View Monitor and Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist features, the 2020 Santa Fe will also offer a Rear Occupant Alert. It is a new feature that comes as a standard on the SE and SEL trims and works by alerting drivers if a person or animal is present in the rear seat when the driver gets out of the vehicle. It’s a way to address rampant cases of children or pets being left unattended in car in the United States.

Safe Exit Assist is another safety feature to be offered in 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. It will join the Blind- Spot Collision Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist features as a standard equipment for the SEL version as well as other higher trim levels.

Fans of the Santa Fe’s Ultimate trim, however, should know that it has been removed from the lineup. But premium door sill plates and dark chrome exterior trims are now offered as standard on Limited trims.

The 2020 Santa Fe’s entry-level trim comes with a standard 7-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, while the higher-level trims are equipped with the brand’s latest AVN 5.0 navigation system. SEL models with the Convenience Package will also get wireless device charging as a standard.

The new-generation Santa Fe will be powered by either a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder GDI engine that makes 185 horsepower or a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower. Both engines will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
