Chevrolet is bringing the Trailblazer back for the 2021 model year, but this time as a small crossover instead of the original truck-based mid-size SUV. A few months ahead of its expected spring arrival, the automaker has already released the official pricing for the model.

In a recent announcement, Chevrolet revealed the new Trailblazer will carry a price tag under $20,000, including the destination charge. This makes the crossover cheaper than the Chevrolet Trax, which is a bigger model.

The 2021 Trailblazer will feature two different turbocharged three-cylinder engines like its corporate sibling, the Buick Encore GX. As base engine, it will have a 1.2-liter unit that makes 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, which will work alongside the 1.3-liter motor that produces 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Chevrolet is also making a continuously variable transmission a standard on the front-wheel-drive variant of the Trailblazer that comes with the 1.2-liter engine. The all-wheel-drive system powered by the 1.3-liter motor, meanwhile, will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

There will also be two trim levels–Activ and RS–both of which will have minimal differences in appearance. The Activ variant is going to be pegged as the off-road-ready trim, while the RS will be the sportier version. Additionally, the Activ trim will feature a larger grille opening, its own 17-inch wheels, Hankook Sport Terrain tires, and different tuning for the dampers. The RS type, on the other hand, will simply have a different grille pattern and black bow-tie emblem. Both trims will have a standard two-tone roof treatment.

Moreover, the new Trailblazer is expected to have more interior space than the Trax with its total cargo capacity listed at 54 cubic feet. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, however, will be optional for the touchscreen infotainment system.

Some driver-assist features such as lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, and automated emergency braking will all be standard, while blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control will be offered as optional add-ons.
