Age seems to be working well for Toyota’s off-roading vehicles as its aging Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner vehicles continue to maintain popularity and strong sales in the United States.

As if the off-roaders weren’t already remarkable enough, the Japanese automaker just unveiled a new special edition for all three models bound to be introduced during the 2020 Chicago Auto Show.

For the following model year, the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner will be offered with new Trail Special Editions that feature a slew of additional features, unique styling, and exclusive content.

The Trail Special Editions of all three models will be based on the SR5 trim and will be available in either a two-wheel- or four-wheel-drive.

For the Tacoma Trail, customers are treated to the SR5 Double Cab that comes with dark grey 18-inch TRD off-road wheels fitted with Kevlar All-Terrain tires, as well as a front grille lifted from the Tacoma Limited trim. It also includes a 115-volt power outlet in the bed and lockable bed storage on the driver’s side that also functions as a cooler.

On the other hand, the Tundra Trail is based on the SR5 Crew Max with hints of the SR5 Upgrade Package. It will include a larger fuel tank, three cupholders, and a front center console. Thanks to the New Trail package, it will also feature a chrome grille, unique wheel designs, the same lockable bed storage, and layout as the Tacoma Trail.

Finally, the 4Runner Trail has a similar styling as the other two but with exclusive features such as a 40-quart cooler and sliding cargo tray. The cooler comes with a lockable lid, freezer-grade gasket, two heavy-duty latches with bottle openers, and a built-in drain plug.

The three Trail Editions will be offered in four color options: Army Green, Cement, Midnight Black, and Super White.

According to Toyota, the vehicles will be limited to 7,000 Tacomas, 5,000 Tundras, and 4,000 4Runners.
