What’s the difference between a regular Camaro and the ZL1 1LE version? Camaros are offered in several engine configurations. They can be fitted with either a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine or a 3.6-liter V6. The Camaro SS model has a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8. The ZL1 version is essentially the enthusiast model, being fitted with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. Then the ZL1 1LE is the track-focused version, which is lighter and has upgraded bodywork, such as a rear spoiler and front splitter that allows it to create downforce. It also has several upgrades to its supercharger, suspension, and tires.

The Camaro was never really known to be a slow vehicle. Even its first iterations in the late 60’s had V6’s and V8’s that rivaled the Ford Mustang. The first two generations of the Camaro were known to be fairly quick in a straight line. While the Camaro’s third and fourth generations diverged away from its pony car heritage and turned into a coupe, it was still relatively sporty. That said, the most modern iterations are still the fastest because they are equipped with the most advanced engines and designs that allow them to reach fast speeds. Additionally, modern Camaros are now built to corner well unlike all previous iterations, which focused on straight-line speed and good looks.
