The unit was a perfect fit. It was basic plug and play and security setup. I would have given this a 5 star but the return of the core charge was very difficult. I spent two hours trying to get the RMA and still couldn't get it done.

Answered by Arnel E. / Mon, Jun 28No it can’t. I had to take it to a shop, and they used a program that’s specific to every manufacturer(ie. Chevy, Ford). When installed you can turn the key and that will instantly “flash” the BCM which sort of programs it to your particular key fob, however the VIN has to programmed via a computer. My shop has to buy an annual subscription from each dealer in able to use it.

And you need to know how to use the Tech II I wasn't totally sure I could get the car unlocked so i could get in and try to start it without the BCM being programmed, so I could drive it. I had a few things I wanted Cad to fix anyway, so I waited to take it to the dealer.
