Question: Does the belt tensioner make noise when it is going ou?Lee D. / Jun 12, 2022 / 2010 BMW 528iTiming Belt Tensioner - Direct Fit, Sold Individually
Hi Lee, I'm glad to assist you. If the accessory belt tensioner or tensioner pulley fails, the loss of tension can cause the belt and pulleys to make a high-pitched rattling or chirping noises. If the pulley bearing completely fails, it can also cause a squealing or even a grinding noise. Grab our lowest price offer and click the link below to order today. I hope this helps. Yes it makes a chirping or squealing noise. The chirping is more common, and the squealing in my experiences have always meant the belt is worn and needs to be replaced. They have better tensioner belts today that have a felt like material on the grip side. They are much better than the rubber made belts.

It can make a whirring noise during failure. Can make a rattling noise if the belt is stretched or has a broken bolt.
